3-Days Desert Tour itinerary from Marrakech

Your journey begins early in the morning with departure from Marrakech. Travel through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest road pass in Morocco. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of Berber villages, terraced fields, and stunning mountain landscapes. The first main stop is the historic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its traditional earthen architecture and its role as a filming location for many famous movies and series. After exploring the kasbah, continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Sahara.” From there, the road leads through the beautiful Valley of the Roses and the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, where you will see ancient fortresses, palm groves, and charming desert towns. By evening, you arrive in the impressive Dades Valley, where you will spend the night in a comfortable hotel and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner. On the second day, travel to the stunning Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural canyons. Walk along the river between towering rock cliffs before continuing the journey toward the Sahara. Passing through small villages and palm-filled oases, you will reach Merzouga, located at the edge of the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. In the late afternoon, begin a memorable camel trek across the Sahara Desert. Ride over the golden dunes while watching the magical desert sunset. At the desert camp, you will be welcomed with mint tea and enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars, followed by Berber music around the campfire.
