About This Activity

For nearly 600 years, East and West have met and coexisted in Bosnia and Herzegovina, creating a land full of contrasts and cultural richness. Since becoming part of the Ottoman Empire, Bosnia transformed into a country where diverse influences blended, leaving behind a fascinating heritage steeped in oriental Turkish influences.

This tour provides a unique chance to explore Bosnia and Herzegovina, a nation renowned for its cultural diversity and historical contrasts, all shaped by its nearly 400-year association with the Ottoman Empire. From ancient mosques and oriental architecture to its rich history, you’ll witness how these influences have left a lasting imprint on the country’s identity.

A key highlight of this journey is a visit to the 16th-century mosques and the famous UNESCO-protected Old Bridge, which was rebuilt after the war and stands as a stunning masterpiece of oriental art. As you take in the Old Bridge and the oriental side of Mostar, you'll also learn about the region's recent history, the devastating war, and how life has evolved in this resilient Balkan country today.

The tour offers optional stops, including a visit to Počitelj, a small oriental village that will transport you back in time, or a 45-minute stop at Kravice Waterfalls, one of the region’s natural wonders. Don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the oriental charm of the region, try the local continental cuisine, sip on a traditional Turkish coffee, and experience the third most visited European sanctuary. This journey promises a blend of history, culture, and natural beauty that you won’t soon forget.

A wonderful and well-organized trip. Our guide, Ivan, shared information about the history of Dubrovnik and other areas as we traveled toward the border, Kravice Waterfalls, and Mostar. In Mostar, a local guide was there to take us on a tour and explain the town’s history.

This tour was fantastic! We had a wonderful group, with our guide Ivan and the driver sharing interesting information about the nature and history of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The drive was very smooth, and the bus had air conditioning, which was much appreciated. Jasmina, our walking tour guide in Mostar, was also lovely.
