About This Activity

Immerse yourself in the magic of Morocco on this comprehensive 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. This journey takes you from the bustling city streets through the snowy peaks of the Atlas Mountains and into the golden silence of the deep Sahara.

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley
Your adventure begins with an early pickup from your accommodation. We drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n'Tichka pass. Pause for panoramic photos of Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides. We arrive at the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and backdrop for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After lunch, we continue through Ouarzazate and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Dunes
After breakfast, we head toward Tinghir to explore the magnificent Todra Gorges. Walk along the riverbank flanked by massive 300-meter high rock walls a paradise for climbers. We continue to Erfoud, famous for its fossils, before reaching the sands of Merzouga. Here, you will switch from minibus to ship-of-the-desert (camel). Enjoy a 1-hour sunset camel trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Arrive at your desert camp, enjoy a traditional Tagine dinner, and listen to Berber drum music around the campfire beneath the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara. After breakfast (and a shower at the camp or hotel), we begin the return journey. We take a different scenic route through the volcanic landscapes of the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the village of Nkob. We pass through Ouarzazate for a final stop before crossing the High Atlas once more, arriving in Marrakech in the evening, concluding your unforgettable desert safari.
