About This Activity

You will be picked up from your hotel at approximately 8:00 am in a private air-conditioned vehicle, beginning your journey to Phnom Kulen National Park. Along the way, you'll pass through charming Cambodian villages, observing daily life and enjoying picturesque views of rice fields and traditional homes. A stop will be made at the authentic village of Phum Preah Dak, where you can witness locals crafting palm cakes and palm sugar, a cherished tradition.

The trip then continues to the summit of Phnom Kulen, where your experienced guide will introduce you to the park's highlights. You'll visit the largest and most stunning waterfalls, the reclining Buddha statue, and the ancient River of a Thousand Lingas, carved into the riverbed in 802 AD. After exploring these attractions, take a break for a picnic lunch near a waterfall. Savor grilled chicken and fresh seasonal fruits grown by farmers at the base of Kulen Mountain.

Once refreshed, the journey heads to Kampong Phluk, a unique fishing and stilted village located 21 kilometers from Siem Reap. Upon arrival at the lake port, you'll board a local boat to explore the renowned floating villages of Tonle Sap Lake. These colorful homes, perched on tall stilts, are designed to withstand the rising waters during the rainy season. You'll gain insight into the lives of the families who rely on fishing as their primary livelihood.

The excursion also includes a visit to the surrounding flooded mangrove forest, home to diverse wildlife such as crab-eating macaques and over 3,000 residents. To conclude, you'll visit a Buddhist monastery built on an artificial island before being taken back to your hotel in Siem Reap.
